Some Decorum, pahleez!

So much to blog about and its only 913am, which I guess could be WELL into the day for some - its still morning to me, I just got an early start today. It wasn't the best of starts by any means, but I got up and made the best of what I could have made really bad (real bad, Michael Jackson - cause I was mad really mad Joe Jackson - haha, hope you know that Kanye song). Anyways, I drove around Hollywood taking some pics - I happened to catch a new Dodgertown billboard with, of all people, er, characters - Yoda! holding his lightsaber like a bat, saying - My Town This is - instead of their normal slogan "This is My Town" but hey that's normal for Yoda :-) . So I come into work really wanting to blog about something, I feel like talking, more like getting stuff out of my head - so I open up Google, wow - that is some image. Today is Nikola Tesla's birthday (yeah, I had no idea who that was so I used the trusty internet resource to learn more about 'The Genius who lit the world': "Nikola Tesla (10 July 1856 – 7 January 1943) is frequently cited as one of the most important contributors to the birth of commercial electricity, a man who "shed light over the face of Earth"best known for many revolutionary contributions in the field of electricity and magnetism. Much of his early work pioneered modern electrical engineering and many of his discoveries were of groundbreaking importance but due to his eccentric personality and his seemingly unbelievable claims about possible scientific and technological developments, Tesla was ultimately ostracized and regarded as a mad scientist.[6][7] Never having put much focus on his finances, Tesla died impoverished at the age of 86." (from wikipedia) ...
The great are often considered mad, but just misunderstood :-).
So what really got me going this morning is people - ahhh, isn't it always?! Was my mother one of the last to teach "if you don't haven't anything nice to say, don't {freakin'} say anything at all"?! I've really really really been urked lately by people's rudeness, bluntness -to say the least. Maybe my own non-understood hostility is a result of my noticing more, I think maybe i've been more careless lately but not heartless, without a thought! If a person you know gets a hair cut that you don't like, puts on more weight than looks 'healthy' or is wearing something that you don't believe looks good, please first think about yourself. Who are you to this person, what are you about to say, how are you going to say it and WHY? I think the latter is the most important thought here. WHY are you saying what you are saying? My mother once told me that I probably shouldn't wear (my favorite skirt) anymore. I took offense but really she was looking out for my best interest; she didn't come at me in a snearing criticizing tone. She didn't want me walking around my school/town looking foolish while my butt ate my skirt. We weren't in front of my friends, any boys, or in a crowd. How about some decorum in the ways we interact with others and act simply as individuals. It would be nice.

*Side note: I'd like to ask Ralphs grocery store this: people often use 4-wheeled carts while in grocery stores which they then also use to transport the items purchased, outside to some mode of transportation awaiting in the parking lot. If you are going to spend what I would guess is hundreds of thousands of dollars remodeling, why do you make the first half of the exit a ramp, which leads you to the only way out, a flight of stairs...? Okay, there is an elevator - which is at the moment, still sketchy as if under construction. I see stairs so thinking nothing of it I make my way up, which then takes me to a second level that turns and leads you to the only way in - up a ramp, okay fine. As I leave, I think to myself "self, if I had a cart and chose to take the ramp - or thought I had to take the ramp, how do I then get my cart down the stairs to my car?" I saw an older man getting off the elevator (which presumably worked) as I exited into the pakring lot - what if the elevator is broken one day? What about people who have a handicap? Do I need to write a letter to someone? I'm sure I missed something. There must be a way out another way, down the other half of the ramp that I didn't see, because it isn't obvious...maybe I'll take the time to explore another time.
